The upcoming 2019 RAM 2500 is a heavy-duty pickup with great power and towing capability. It comes to the market with an improved suspension, thanks to a rear-coil spring that will make the ride much better. New 2019 2500 is slightly wider than the previous model. However, while there is almost no job in the world that RAM 2500 can’t do it, it lacks in tech features and more sophisticated cabin. The new model will come with almost no changes.
2019 RAM 2500 – Exterior Expectations and Luxurious Interior Design
It is hard to compare RAM’s aging exterior with the design of Ford Super Duty. While some customers find the RAM 2500 exterior just fine, the fact is that the design is the almost the same since 2009. However, thanks to numerous trim levels, the customers can pick their favorite option. There is a new Limited Tungsten Edition that adds more chrome details and new front grille with the badge in the middle.
HD Sport model will feature the same grille but instead be made of chrome materials, it’s just body-colored front grille. The Harvest Edition model is aimed at agricultural market and it comes with the same colors as the farm equipment (New Holland Blue and Case IH Red ). The exterior of Harvest model looks more aggressive with all-terrain tires, tow hooks, and skid plates.
You won’t find nice touches like a panoramic sunroof on the approaching 2019 RAM 2500. Even highly customizable cargo box is not included. The RAM is focusing on everything that is not esthetic. But if you are looking for something similar, we recommend the Sport Appearance package, that adds body-color exterior trim, 20-inch wheels and blacked-out badging.
Interior:
We must admit, there is no model in heavy-duty pickup segment that offers more wood trim than the 2019 RAM 2500. It also offers great legroom, but the RAM 2500 2019 deserves a whole new interior. New Limited Tungsten Edition offers premium materials. It includes a suede headliner, leather seats, wood accents and some soft-touch surfaces. The Harvest edition adds 8.4-inch touchscreen heated seats and rubber floor mats.
On the basic model, the switchgear is practical, and the shifter is well placed in the center stack, so it won’t take too much space. It’s such a shame that RAM 2500 does not offer some features such as massaging front seats or rear-seat entertainment system.
2019 RAM 2500 – Powerful Engine and Performance
While none of the RAM 2500 engines can’t match the speed of their rivals, they offer better suspension and improved ride quality. The 2019 RAM 2500 comes with three powertrain options.
The customers can choose between 5.7-liter V8, 6.4-liter V8, and 6.7-liter turbocharged diesel four-cylinder engines. The 5.7-liter V8 can produce 385 hp while 6.4-liter V8 returns 415 hp. The last engine in the lineup, the 6.7-liter turbocharged diesel can create up to 370 hp and 800 lb-ft of torque.
2019 RAM 2500 – Price and Expected Release Date
The 2019 2500 RAM will cost somewhere in the range of $34,000. If you opt for some higher trims, you could pay from $42,000 and 60,000. The release date is not yet announced. It is expected to hit the markets in the first days of 2019.
