2019 RAM 3500 Specs, Release Date

While the RAM 3500 has remained almost the same since 2010, the all-new 2019 RAM 3500 comes with plenty of improvements. The biggest changes happened in the performance category. A 6.7-liter Cummins engine is added as an option, and it provides class-leading numbers of torque. Fuel flow is also increased, and turbo boost limits are slightly raised as well.

Thanks to a new fifth-wheel hitch, the RAM 3500 can tow up to 30,000 pounds. That hitch is the product of Ram Engineering and the manufacturer claims it is the strongest hitch in the industry. Thanks to the engine and other changes over the years, the RAM has doubled towing capacity in last eight years. Of course, torque and towing are not everything one heavy-duty pickup truck can offer.

The front grille is changed and it comes with nostril-style openings and with the large RAM lettering placed in the center. The 2019 RAM 3500 also features a new front bumper that is now slotted for better cooling. At the back, there is a Class V receiver hitch while new fifth-wheel hitch is optional. RamBox bed is also available, and it is a perfect dry place for storing items. New skidplates are added in order to protect vital powertrain components.

Furthermore, RAM installed new HD cameras. A backup camera is placed in the tailgate handle and the second camera is CHMSL (Center High Mounted Stop Lamp) for viewing the bed. The Tungsten Edition comes with more extra chrome details, unique wheels, body-color running boards and the RAM logo on the tailgate. Furthermore, RAM will offer a Night Special Edition that brings a satin-black crosshair grille, badges and black wheels.

Interior:

While the interior looks outdated the tech features are still very competitive in the class. The luxury largely depends on trim levels. The base new 2019 3500 offers vinyl flooring, a small driver information screen, AM/FM radio and some other basic stuff.

The Laramie model is a mid-trim and it comes with leather seats and plenty of luxury. The top-range Limited trim offers plenty of wood trims and colored leather. RAM will continue to offer three cab size, Regular, Crew Cab, and Mega Cab. The Crew Cab is the best selling cab and it offers excellent room for four adults.

Perhaps the biggest news about the approaching 2019 RAM 3500 is new Cummins 6.7-liter turbodiesel engine. This six-cylinder powertrain will produce up to 390 hp and a record-breaking 905 lb-ft of torque. Cummins and RAM have been working together on the way to improve fuel delivery system.

Of course, this is the biggest addition to RAM’s engine lineup, but there are still two engines available. A 5.7-liter V8 with 385 hp, and 6.4-liter V8 that can produce up to 415 hp and 430 lb-ft of torque. All engines come with a 6-speed automatic transmission, while diesel engines offer both manual and automatic gearboxes.
