Still, the 2023 Jeep Gladiator might introduce some notable changes. We are listening about the Hercules model, a mean off-road pickup, based on the Rubicon package. Plus, the Magneto concept introduced for the Wrangler SUV is highly anticipated as one of the options for the truck.
The vehicle is pretty versatile already. You can drive it in urban conditions, tow, and go off the road. The petrol engine is the base, but a lot of buyers opt for the 2023 Jeep Gladiator diesel. As said, the next one could be an all-electric truck. Plus, you can pick the right model from a wide choice of trim levels. Rubicon is the most favorite configuration, that is for sure. But, also the most expensive.
2023 Jeep Gladiator Towing Capacity, Diesel Engine
FCA is not messing up things with the 2023 Gladiator. There is no entry-level four-pot engine that no one cares about. The truckmaker goes straight to the deal with a 3.6-liter V6 mill. It was not hard to predict what kind of a drivetrain engineers will prefer for the new truck. This engine is good for 285 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. Converted to towing capacity, that is 7,500 pounds.
If you are fan of an oil burner, the 2023 Jeep Gladiator diesel is also available. A 3.0-liter EcoDiesel increases the towing capacity, but it doesn’t beat the record in the mid-size class, set by Chevy Colorado, at 7,700 lbs. Gladiator has 260 hp and 442 lb-ft. Experts criticized the company, since it uses the same unit as for the larger Ram 1500.

There is a couple of off-road specialists already in the truck’s lineup. Those are Rubicon and Mojave. The first one is the best choice for the rocky terrain, while the other one’s natural habitat is desert and sand. The company is about to expand the lineup with the 2023 Jeep Gladiator Hercules. Everything is still a far-fetched story, but fans’ concepts look pretty mean. Definitely, truckers are going to support such a vehicle. On the other hand, the price will exceed $50,000, becoming more expensive than its relatives – Gladiator Mojave and Rubicon. Electronically disconnecting anti-roll bar, Fox shocks, max torque at low RPM, and a few more features are standard for such a truck. Of course, Hercules is going to bring something else, as special as Mojave and Rubicon.
Release Date and Price
The launch date of the 2023 Jeep Gladiator depends on the development of the Hercules and eventually Magneto model. The electric truck might even be the priority, over the off-road package, since there are two of those already in the lineup. Still, the EV is a big project and we will see the Wrangler SUV first. The price stays put, with the base MSRP starting around $35,000. The mid-range models are hitting $40,000, while the most expensive versions start around $50,000 before upgrades. After loading them with a bunch of options, the value can gain another $10k.
