2021 Ford F-650 and F-750 – Petrol vs Diesel Engine

Like the last time, the 2021 Ford F-650 and F-750 medium-duty trucks are going to use a powerful and reliable V8 turbodiesel powerplant. The Power Stroke unit is capable to create a massive amount of torque. However, 935 lb-ft of twisting power is not useful without a block that can support it with 445 horsepower. Joint forces will push towing capacity beyond every limit street trucks can offer. The company is yet to release detailed specs of the new drive system.

The focus is currently on the gasoline engine. The all-new 7.3-liter petrol drivetrain is under the spotlight. As promised, Ford launches it for its largest vehicles first. We are not in doubt that the Super Duty segment is also getting this V8 unit. It is capable to deliver 430 horsepower and 475 lb-ft of torque. However, the special medium-duty segment will need refinement, so the drivetrain could be detuned. Converted to towing capacity, the company claims it will be the best in class V8 petrol engine.
