The 2021 GMC Sierra HD lineup is the shadow of more popular nameplates – Ford F-Series, Ram 2500/3500, and its twin Chevy Silverado Series 2 and 3. 2021 GMC Sierra HD Diesel
There is a new gasoline engine in the lineup, but the highlight of the model is a turbodiesel engine with 910 lb-ft of torque. Well, General Motors could boost the powerplant, since Ford is already above 1,000. With 445 hp, the outputs are creating enough power for the 2021 GMC Sierra HD to reach a towing capacity of 35,500 pounds. Nevertheless, this will need other upgrades, such as a towing package, and a gooseneck system. Dual-rear-wheel configuration is also required. It is available only for the Sierra 3500 model, leaving Series 2 truck at 18,000 pounds of standard GVWR.
New Petrol Engine
Under the hood of the base setup is now a 6.6-liter V8 gasoline powerplant. A 6.6-liter engine is replacing a 6.0 unit. Now, truckers can count on 400 hp and 465 lb-ft of torque, which is a huge boost from 360 horsepower and 380 pound-feet. A six-speed transmission is still there as the only option. For the turbodiesel, a power router is the Allison gearbox. Rear-wheel drive is standard and four-wheel drive optional. Dually setup is not available in combination with the new gasoline engine. GM made this move to improve the efficiency of its heavy-duty trucks. The fresh powertrain will also draw the attention of more buyers.
2021 GMC Sierra HD Denali
Both Sierra 2500 and 3500 will offer the same trim levels. The entry-level package can be upgraded with the SLE or SLT features. Nevertheless, the most impressive equipment is coming with two top trim levels. You can choose between utility and luxury. The 2021 GMC Sierra HD AT4 comes with the special options for an off-road drive. Unique shocks and suspensions system will maximize comfort in extreme road conditions.
Still, the Sierra Denali is top of the line trim. It is offering luxurious features inside the cabin. For example, premium audio, leather upholstery, and navigation are standard. Also, outside, you will find the latest Multi-Pro six-way tailgate. Finally, we expect the company to include the trailer camera as the standard feature for some lower-level packages. The price is not cheap, though. With the petrol engine, the 2021 GMC Sierra HD Denali will cost $66,000.
