2023 Ford F-250 Towing Capacity
The 2023 Ford F-250 is not the best heavy-duty truck for towing. But, with certain upgrades, it can become a might truck. It’s cousin, F-350, can tow more than 35,000 pounds. But, the F-250 is limited to 23,000 pounds, and that is possible only through special upgrades. Standard GVWR is 20,000 lbs if you are using a 6.7-liter Powerstroke diesel engine. A turbodiesel unit can provide 450 hp and 1,050 lb-ft of torque. It is paired with a 10-speed automatic transmission.
There are also two petrol displacements available for the 2023 Ford F-250. A 6.2-liter mill is still there with 385 hp and 430 lb-ft. The new unit is a 7.3-liter V8, also called Godzilla. In this case, the power outputs jump to 430 hp and 475 lb-ft of torque. This engine pushed the limits of the F-250 truck. The pickup can haul up to 20,000 pounds with the latest engine upgrade. A ten-speed gearbox is the same all across the lineup.
Competition
There are not too many vehicles in the Series 2 segment of heavy-duty trucks. The main rivals for the 2023 Ford F-250 are coming from FCA and GM. Ram 2500 HD is very attractive, thanks to the Power Wagon package. On the other hand, General Motors made a big move on its twins, GMC Sierra 2500 and Chevy Silverado 2500. Both trucks now feature the new Allison transmission. Finally, Nissan was there with the Titan XD. However, experts don’t consider this truck as the HD model. It is rather something between the half-ton and heavy-duty classes.

It will take a while to go through the entire 2023 Ford F-250 lineup. The truck is a working mule, but it can become a serious off-road vehicle or a premium rig. It all depends on the number of funds you are willing to spend. The base MSRP starts from $35,000 for the truck with a regular cab. Super Cab adds $2,500 and CrewCab is another grand. XL and XLT are considered as entry-level versions. Favorite configuration includes Lariat and King Ranch, as the mid-range offer. Still, the second one is significantly more expensive. The most exclusive features are available with Platinum and Limited editions. Ford deploys all the best features it can offer. The price hits $85,000 before upgrades if you are after the F-250 Limited. Buyers can spend another $10k on additional features.
