2023 Ford F-350: What We Know So Far?

The new heavy-duty truck is going to keep the pace with the competition. Series 3 models are the best haulers in this class. There are no too many rivals, but the Blue Oval company will try to be a step ahead the competition. The 2023 Ford F-350 will have to beat towing capacities of the Chevy Silverado 3500 HD (including its twin GMC Sierra 3500) and Ram 3500 HD.

Torque is already above 1,000 pound-feet, and further modifications can make it grow to 1,100 lb-ft. Power outputs of both petrol and diesel engines are staying the same. We’ll see if the 2023 Ford F-350 is keeping the base 6.2-liter V8 gas unit, now with the 7.3-liter displacement being a way better option. Features reshuffle across the trim levels and color updates are certain. The top of the range versions are luxury vehicles with the price tag of $90,000 and higher.

Engine Updates

The Super Duty segment doesn’t require changes too frequently. So, engineers will have more work under the bonnet. Expected changes on the 2023 Ford F-350 are mechanical. Two options are the most certain. First, the heavy-duty truck is offering a new 7.3-liter V8 engine with 430 horsepower and 480 pound-feet of torque. It leaves an old 6.2-liter V8 gas engine being a weaker configuration. Many experts believe it is just a matter of time when the F-350 will drop this plant. Other expectation is a torque boost on the diesel unit. It is not a surprise, since Ford did it several times in past few years. Currently, the most potent version is at 1,050 lb-ft. Ram is also above 1,000 pound-feet and the new Chevy Silverado 3500 will follow the trend.

2023 Ford F-350 Diesel Dually Truck

Speaking of capabilities, there is no better hauler in the market than the 2023 Ford F-350 diesel. Powerstroke engine is good for 450 hp and 1,050 lb-ft. Converted to towing capacity, it can be 35,000 pounds, if you equip the truck properly. That requires a dual rear wheel system and 5th wheel/gooseneck feature. Without such upgrades, the F-350 diesel is still pretty potent, with a hauling capacity of around 23,000 lbs. Nevertheless, Ford is trying to be a step ahead of the competition. The difference between three Series 3 trucks in the US market is not big. Chevy Silverado is now using a new Allison transmission, which caused other companies to revisit their gearboxes.

2023 Ford F-350 Trim Levels

There are many upgrades available for the Super Duty class. The 2023 Ford F-350 Raptor is still not part of the lineup. There is not 4×4 specialist for the Series 3 model. Tremor is available only for the F-250. Still, there are plenty of available models. We recommend some of the mid-range versions, such as Lariat, or a bit more expensive King Ranch. Limited trim level is putting the F-350 into the premium class. The XL is the entry-level model, but for $4,500 you can get much better XLT package. Regular, Super, and Crew Cab are available configurations. High-end trim levels are available only with the last layout.
