Ford is among the carmakers that are on a range expansion spree for 2018 and subsequent years. In fact, the iconic US carmaker is going to bring back of its earlier models that were popular but were discontinued for various reasons. The Ford Ranger is one such example. Ford is all set to bring back the popular truck with a Wildtrak variant and it will be launched sometimes in 2018, as per company sources. It is expected both super cab and crew cab versions will be launched.

The spy images of upcoming 2018 Wildtrak have already posted online and from the images it is clear, the truck will have an enticing exterior styling. Despite the camouflage, it is not tedious to spot the design traits. It will be built on the enhanced version of the company’s T6 platform. The hexagonal style grille used in many Ford pickup models is likely to be there at the front. It may be released in a few trims but Ford is a mum on those details. There will be variations in wheel options as per trims. There will be changes in the US-bound model compared to the Australian version. Not much is known about the cabin of the truck though.
2018 Ford Ranger Wildtrak – Powerful Engine and Performance
It is not clear as to which powertrain choices will be used by Ford in the upcoming 2018 Ranger Wildtrak. It is rumoured that the diesel engine may be used and you will also get a twin-turbo EcoBoost V6 unit in some trims. The latter may also be kept especially for the US buyers. However, Ford is certain to use it’s much touted and new 10-speed automatic transmission which has been co-developed with GM. It has already been used in the new F-150 lineup. This is supposed to make the engines more fuel efficient.
