Next year could finally bring one of the most interesting concepts into production. The 2020 Nissan Titan Warrior is an off-road version of the full-size pickup truck. From what we can see, it will be able to compete with the toughest models in this segment. However, the mission is not so easy and the production of Warrior truck hasn’t started yet.
Nissan has to do something about the full-size lineup. The Japanese carmaker is still managing to survive on the market. The Titan XD is a unique model, positioned somewhere between full-size and heavy-duty segment. But, the regular Titan is losing pace against Ford F-150, Chevy Silverado 1500, Ram 1500, and Toyota Tundra. Well, the new off-road version will definitely revive the interest in the entire squad.
Every carmaker will have an off-road performance-oriented truck soon. Of course, Ford is a leader here with Raptor version of its F-150. But, for some fans, Toyota Tundra TRD Pro is a better model. The battle on this field is warming up. For next season we have announcements for Chevrolet Silverado ZR2. FCA is also giving hints about the new 707-hp rated truck that will carry a Hemi engine. The production of 2020 Nissan Titan Warrior is going to be a response to growing challenges. The tough task is ahead of people in Nissan to prepare this off-road truck for the market.
2020 Nissan Titan Warrior Concept
The 2020 Nissan Titan Warrior is an ultimate off-road truck. It is built to take you anywhere. The armor around the body will protect the chassis. The aggressive look is definitely something that will draw a lot of attention. However, this model is coming with special off-road upgrades. All-terrain tires, skid plates, unique suspension, and many more features will make Titan Warrior so special. The design of the exterior is described as “modern armor” and “robotic”. Sharp edges and distinctive details will definitely make this version of the full-size pickup truck so special.
The highlight of the 2020 Nissan Titan Warrior will be a V8 turbodiesel engine. With 330 hp and 555 lb-ft, it will beat all other diesel drivetrains in the full-size segment. All big three companies from the USA are using a 3.0-liter V6 engine with the capability to produce 240-280 hp and 420-450 pound-feet of torque. XD version of Titan truck is already getting power from the same V8 unit. For the smaller pickup, engineers could slightly detune the engine. The Cummins powertrain sends power through a six-speed Aisin transmission. Not only that this gearbox is capable to handle such power and torque, but it also provides a smooth drive and improves fuel economy.
2020 Nissan Titan Warrior Release Date, Price
The new 2020 Nissan Titan Warrior might enter production next year. If that happens earlier, we can see it as 2020MY. However, the Japanese company must speed up the development and fix all lacks of the concept model. The base Titan costs $30,000, while the XD package adds $13,000 more. All off-road upgrades for Warrior will make the price go over $50,000. Some upper trim levels will exceed $60,000 and if Nissan makes everything premium, it will slap the $70,000 price tag on the 2020 Warrior.
