The 2021 Nissan Titan is not bringing any major changes after the facelift in 2020. The Japanese company is trying to catch up with the competition. The US carmakers are still safe from other companies, and it seems that Nissan is trying to be a competition to Toyota Tundra. For the upcoming truck, one thing is sure – you can stop expecting the diesel engine. Nissan cut it from the Titan XD model and it is not going to happen on the full-size pickup.
The refresh will update the look of the new Titan. It is more aggressive and eye-catching, its performances are superb, but the truck still can’t respond to US-built diesel models. We will see if the model can get more autonomous drive features.
Accessories and Safety
The new 2021 Titan is getting more features than ever. An eight-inch touchscreen is the center of the new infotainment, while higher levels are getting a 9-inch display. Nissan Safety Shield is also improved. Now, you will get emergency braking, blind-spot monitor, and lane departure alert with the base model.
2021 Nissan Titan Specs
A 5.6-liter V8 engine is the most powerful engine the company can deliver for its truck. Retuned, it crunches 400 hp and 413 lb-ft of torque. That is 10 ponies and 19 lb-ft more than before. This will definitely increase the towing capacity. Titan is currently rated just under 10,000 pounds. The fuel economy should get a boost thanks to the new transmission. Instead of a 7-pace case, the upcoming pickup is going to use a nine-speed gearbox. It sends power to rear wheels by default and intelligent 4WD remains optional.

XD and Warrior Trucks
The 2021 Nissan Titan XD is a truck positioned between full-size and heavy-duty segment. It uses the same engine as the regular Titan. The new model is dropping a 5.0-liter turbodiesel V8. While most companies are adding diesel drivetrains, Nissan decided to opt out of this segment. According to rumors, the company is developing greener sources of power. We don’t believe that such a huge truck can get a hybrid version in 2021.
In 2021, we could finally see the off-road oriented Warrior. This is the concept that seemed to be production-ready. However, the 2021 Nissan Titan Warrior is now more likely than ever. We were hoping the off-road pickup could take benefits of the turbodiesel engine, but this is not what the Japanese company is planning. Unique styling and features will perfectly fit on the new Titan.
2021 Nissan Titan Release Date
With the new model refreshed for the 2020 season, the company is not going to rush with the new 2021 Nissan Titan. Well, the release date will depend on updates. If the Warrior concept becomes a part of the lineup, that is a good reason for a big debut. On the other hand, we can only hear rumors and the truck is not confirmed yet. The price of the pickup remains the same. The base offer starts over $31,000 (single cab, long bed, 4×2 drive, and the S package). The XD model with a similar configuration will add around $2,000.
