The three-way fight in the off-road truck segment is on. For a long time, Ford Raptor was the only such vehicle in the market. We could read and hear a lot of speculations about FCA and GM projects. Extreme Off-Road Capabilities and Powerful Engine

The new look will definitely lure buyers, but all of them will look at the specs sheet and what the truck is bringing. Ram burned Ford Raptor with 700 horsepower. Reportedly, the Blue Oval company is preparing a new version with 740 hp, coming from the engine installed already under the hood of the GT supercar. Previously, some sources claimed the high-output version of the Chevrolet Silverado is going to produce about 650 ponies, like the Corvette muscle car. But now, the vehicle is going to need even more juice.
According to insider stories, the engineers are going to supercharge the existing 6.2-liter V8 engine. The base configuration is good for 420 hp and 460 lb-ft of torque. After the upgrade, the output should be around 700 hp, which will make it eligible to compete with abovementioned trucks.

At this point, the 2022 Chevy Silverado ZRX seems like a dream. GM is investing in electrification and the Hummer truck will be a highlight of the upcoming season. Still, the company is big enough to handle another debut. But, many other premieres were moved from 2021 to 2022 because of the COVID outburst.
