Ford needed something to get on the line to the Ram Power Wagon. We expected the Raptor package to debut in the Super Duty segment. But, the 2022 Ford F-250 Tremor will be the off-road model for this class. It is not such a big disappointment, since the new trim level received positive feedbacks. Still, the Tremor is not an exclusive badge for the Series 2 pickup, like the Power Wagon is for the Ram 2500.
Highlights of the 2022 Ford F-250 Tremor are lifted suspension, off-road tires, and upgrades that will make your adventure more comfortable. There are two engine choices and buyers can choose between a petrol and diesel unit. Drive modes will let you select the best setup, depending on the road and weather condition. The Tremor truck is not just a great off-roader, but you can also get the full impression driving it on the road. You just need to avoid urban areas, since tight parking spots are going to be the biggest fear of this pickup.
2022 Ford F-250 Tremor Upgrades
Most of the add-ons are there to boost the off-road drive. The configuration is available with the Crew Cab and most trim levels, except the base XL and the high-end Limited. The eye-catching detail is a set of 35-inch all-terrain tires, which wrap 18-inch wheels. You won’t find those elsewhere. Designers also created the fresh face with the exclusive grille. Black details and chrome accents are a great combination. Optionally, you can also add the Rapid Red package with a Tremor sign on the rear fender.
Drivetrains
The rest is carried over from the base version, including drivetrains. The 2022 Ford F-250 Tremor will get the power from a petrol 6.2-liter displacement. You will get 385 hp and 430 lb-ft of torque. However, a far better option is a 6.7-liter Powerstroke turbodiesel with more than 1,000 lb-ft of torque. Of course, for the enhanced balance and traction, 4WD is a part of the standard offer for the Tremor model. A 7.3-liter V8 is a new member of the F-250 squad and previous editions of the 4×4 pickup were not offered with this mill. It is not going to change in 2022. A ten-speed automatic transmission is a power router.
2022 Ford F-250 Tremor Price and Verdict
The base price for the 2022 Ford F-250 will be around $50,000. But, there are plenty of options that will make the truck way more expensive. Like said, the recommendable upgrade is a diesel engine, but it will cost you at least $10,000. Plus, choosing a higher-end trim will put a hefty price tag on your final configuration.
Ram Power Wagon is the biggest rival. The FCA offers this truck only with a petrol engine at $53,000. The diesel unit is not available. Also, we expect the arrival of Nissan Titan XD Warrior. It is slightly smaller, but the concept truck drew a lot of attention a couple of years ago. Ford’s archrival, General Motors, is out in the market with a couple of special trucks. The Bow-tie logo is on the Chevrolet Silverado 2500 Trail Boss, while the GMC delivers a well-known AT4 package for its Sierra Series 2 model.
