Since the FCA decided to expand the lineup of vehicles using its mightiest configuration, we started thinking of 2022 Jeep Gladiator Hellcat. Well, now it is not so impossible to happen. The new truck already carries the same engine as the Ram 1500, a 3.0-liter turbodiesel. Now, a 6.2-liter supercharged V8 is the hottest rumor.
This engine was available for Dodge’s muscle cars and the only vehicle using it outside this class was Jeep Grand Cherokee. Now, the Ram 1500 truck is there, as the rival to Ford Raptor. The company also surprised fans by making Dodge Durango even more potent, with 710 horsepower. Now, fans are guessing which vehicle is going to be next. Gladiator is one of the options. But, the biggest question is if the engine can fit the truck. So, the favorite to be the next Hellcat is Jeep Grand Wagoneer SUV.
2022 Jeep Gladiator Hellcat Specs
The powertrain for the 2022 Jeep Gladiator Hellcat will be a 6.2-liter supercharged V8 engine with more than 700 horsepower. Outputs are different – Grand Cherokee can make 707 hp, Durango is tuned for 710 hp, while the Ram truck produces 702 ponies. So, the Gladiator Hellcat, or whatever name the company chooses, should be somewhere around 700-710 hp. An eight-speed auto transmission will be a power router and 4WD standard. This is something in common for all abovementioned vehicles. But, the Gladiator can be different.
Don’t Be So Thrilled
On the other hand, it is hard to believe that the crown jewel is going to be there and the truck is not using a V8 yet. We were waiting for a long time to see Ram 1500 getting this engine. And it’s been about four years since the FCA make an official announcement. First, they showed the TRX concept, and then, during the premiere of the new RAM 1500, the time was set at 7:07, indicating the level of power the Grand Cherokee is making. Now, the TRX made Ford create a new version of its mighty Raptor for the F-150. A mid-range Ranger is not here yet. Nevertheless, outputs of those pickups is around 300 horsepower and none is using a V8.
2022 Jeep Gladiator Hellcat Release Date and Price
Since the arrival of the 2022 Jeep Gladiator Hellcat is questionable, everything about the release is speculation. The price is going to be hefty, that is for sure.
