When you think of Fiat vehicles, images of cute looking cars with curvy designs and Italian style conjure up in mind! However, the car giant has made a foray in light pickup truck segment. Fiat Professional’s mid-range offering aka Fiat Fullback is now revamped and the 2017 version will go on sale soon. The Fiat Fullback 2017 is a commercial vehicle though it cannot be compared with rugged rivals like Ford F 150 Raptor or Ram Rampage. It is essentially a tweaked version of rebadged Mitsubishi L200 with some spec changes.
Fiat Fullback 2017 – Design:
The exterior of Fiat FullBack 2017 has a curvy and stylish design. The large angular headlamps wrap around the sides. At the middle of the grille, there sits the red and familiar fiat logo. It is available in several metallic and regular shades like pearl white, metallic brown and metallic green. The rear also has the logo in middle and wrapping tail lamps. Its cabin is plush and classy looking, to say the least, though not on the scale of more upscale contenders like the venerable VW Amarok. You get dual-zone climate control along with leather upholstery. It comes in 2 trims- SX and LX.
When it comes to amenities and safety technology, the Fiat FullBack 2017 sits in the middle of the lot. There are features like keyless entry, rear camera, hill holder, and navigation. In SX you get features like cruise control and LED Daytime running lights. In LX trim, you get bi-xenon headlights, sat-nav, along with lane departure warning. It also gets special “Touring” suspension.
Fiat Fullback 2017 – Engine Specs:
The SX trim gets a 2.4-liter diesel engine generating 150 hp. The LX trim is loaded with a beefier diesel engine that makes 180 hp. 4WD is offered as standard. You have to pick from five-speed automatic or is x speed manual gearbox. The LX trim features a 4WD Electronic Selector that eases handling rough terrains.
The rated maximum towing capacity is 3 tons and it can take a payload of 1035 kg.
Fiat Fullback 2017 – Price and Release Date:
The 2017 Fiat FullBack is available in certain markets already and others will get it by year end. The SX trim costs £20,995 and LX has a price tag of £22,995. The 2017 Fiat Fullback is a stylish mid-range SUV that has a good build and offers decent performance. However, it lacks the ruggedness of Toyota Tacoma or the luxury of VW Amarok. For Truck buyers with a penchant for Italian flair and style, it is good.
