The highly anticipated Ford VelociRaptor 600 will shortly be released in the market. Hennessey Performance has been upgrading Ford trucks for quite some time now. One of the most popular of these upgrades is the VelociRaptor. It has been designed to offer more power and better suspension system to the Ford F-150 pickup truck. Now that the 2016 model has been released, Hennessey Performance has already begun the upgrade process for this aluminum-intensive truck.
Ford VelociRaptor 600 – Inner and External Cosmetic Changes:
The upgrade has started with the 2016 Ford F-150 crew cab, which it has then transformed in a number of critical areas. To begin with, its suspension system has been upgraded with a coil over system. This now allows the truck to comfortably facilitate for a more improved high-speed off-road experience. It also features aftermarket 17” Hennessey Performance bead lock wheels as well as 33” BFGoodrich tires. It now has big fender flares that can protect its body and paintwork from flying debris while on transit. To incorporate more ruggedness the Ford VelociRaptor 600 has heavy-duty front and rear bumpers. The front one features a winch, recovery points, and driving lights. While the rear has step pockets together with lift points and LED lighting close to the license plates. Hennessey Performance has decided not to effect major changes on the 2016 Ford F-150’s interior design. It still sports the SYNC infotainment system along with driver gauge cluster that features the iconic TFT screen for truck information.
Ford VelociRaptor 600 – Power Unit:
This upgraded 2016 Ford F-150 pickup truck is powered by a 5.0-liter V8 engine that is very capable of producing as much as 603 hp and 538 lbs-ft worth of torque. This particular engine has then been bolted to a roots type supercharged system. Additionally, a couple of upgrades to the powertrains have been made. Some of the most notable are high flow fuel injections, an air to water intercooler and high-flow air intake. The rest of the powertrains has been left as they are. This includes the 6-speed automatic transmission. This upgraded Ford F-150 is in an excellent position of achieving top 0 to 60 mph acceleration speeds in just under 5.6 seconds.
The major rival of the Ford VelociRaptor 600 is undoubtedly the Chevrolet Reaper. However, this particular pickup truck doesn’t possess the latter’s all-around off-road worthiness. The Chevrolet Reaper comes in 2 engine options, which includes a 5.3-liter V8 that produces 475 hp. The other option is a 6.2-liter V8 engine, which can produce as much as 550 hp. As you can see, both these engine performance options are significantly beneath that of the VelociRaptor 600.
Ford VelociRaptor 600 – Price and Launch Date:
This upgraded 2016 Ford F-150 is expected to be released in the market sometime before the end of this year. As is always the case, Hennessey Performance has opted not to advertise the price for this impressive upgrade. Still, you can be assured it won’t come on the cheap. The truck alone will cost you at least $22,500. Then the upgrade parts and the overall labor expenses incurred by Hennessey Performance must also be factored in. The Ford VelociRaptor 600 6×6 will cost $295,000.
