After the TRX model with the Hellcat engine and 707 horsepower, FCA is preparing a new unit. According to reports, it is the so-called Banshee drivetrain, which will find the space under the hood of the 2021 Ram Rebel TR. In short, this is a lighter version of the TRX model, since not too many truckers are keen to handle so much power (and spend a lot of money).
The 2021 Ram Rebel TR is a new concept that will get a new 7.0-liter V8 engine. Ford is also working on the new V8 unit with a huge 7.3 displacement. Now, these two companies continue their battle in the performance-oriented truck segment. The new Ram Rebel TR will rival F-150 Raptor rather than kill it with the Hellcat engine.

The 2021 Ram Rebel TR is going to use features from the TRX model, as well. Both concepts are based on the old platform. However, the company is finally ready to make it functional through these trucks. One thing is sure – the concept can take huge engines. Both 7.0 and 6.2 units are V8s, which need a lot of space under the hood. The approach is the same – trucks are performance-oriented versions of the Ram pickup. But, the TR is a lighter version with a naturally-aspirated 7.0 engine, while the TRX is after the highest possible numbers the Hellcat engine can deliver.
Production of the 2021 Ram 1500 Rebel TRX Starts Next Spring

It’s been a while since we’ve heard about the new 7.0-liter V8 engine. But, until now, we didn’t know its application. Right from the start, the speculations were speaking of the Ram 1500. It was not a tough puzzle since this is the flagship model of the company. Now, we have the first details about its usage.
We know the engine is a 7.0 displacement, and the TR model will be the first to use it. According to sources, the engine is going to produce 520 hp and 525 lb-ft of torque. Other specs are not available at the moment, but the towing capacity and off-road capabilities will be on par with the Ford F-150 Raptor.

At this point, it seems like Chevrolet is losing a battle to its main rivals. First, the Ram 1500 overtook the No2 spot in sales for 2019, and now the company is launching a performance-oriented truck. The GM is testing a new pickup, and experts believe it is a ZR2 package.
When Will Rebel TR be Available?
The company is not providing any details about the 2021 Ram Rebel TR. The truck should be out by next season, and if it happens, we see it nowhere else, but in Detroit. The new format of the largest US show is happening next summer, and it is enough time for the engineers to prepare the concept for a debut. Regarding the price, the TR won’t be as expensive as the Hellcat-powered TRX. On the other hand, it will cost above $45,000, the average price paid for a truck in the US in 2018.
