The model for the new season is out. But, there are some pieces that fans would like to see on the truck. One of them is the 2023 Jeep Gladiator 4xe, the plug-in hybrid pickup. The setup is already available for the Wrangler SUV and everyone expected its sibling to carry on with the electrification. Another possible upgrade is the Gladiator V8 (Hellcat). Again, experts find the inspiration for those rumors in the Wrangler lineup.
So, if the 2023 Jeep Gladiator 4xe happens, it will offer pretty much the same as its SUV sibling. That includes engine configuration and all the features and equipment. In the future, the Gladiator will also introduce an all-electric model, based on the Magneto concept. Of course, before this happens, the Wrangler is getting it first.
Highlights of the plug-in hybrid drivetrain are its off-road capability, power output, gas mileage at the respectable level, and possibility of driving the vehicle by using electric power only. Other notable features depend on trim levels.
2023 Jeep Gladiator 4xe Specs
The setup is based on a 2.0-liter turbo-four engine, which is enhanced by a couple of electric motors. Even the internal combustion plant can do enough power. But, the PHEV system bursts 375 hp and 470 lb-ft of torque. It should help the 2023 Jeep Gladiator 4xe keeping high towing capacity records. We still don’t have estimations, but the truck should haul more pounds than the SUV.
For this amount of power, the gas mileage of 20 mpg is not bad. Also, you can switch to an all-electric drive only and cover 21 miles. Small battery system needs 2.5 hours to recharge on 240V outlet, or 12 hours if you do it at home. An eight-speed automatic transmission is a power router. With an electric motor on each axle, the 2023 Jeep Gladiator 4xe is an AWD truck all the time.
Models and Features
The company will continue to deliver the same trim level lineup for the Wrangler, and we expect the same nameplates for the 2023 Jeep Gladiator 4xe. Low-tier trims are not available. So, the offer starts with the Sahara model. Notable features this trim packs are body-colored exterior parts, large 18-inch wheels, leather steering wheel, navigation, larger driver’s display, keyless entry and more options for the Uconnect infotainment than the lower levels.
The Rubicon is an off-road specialist, even with a hybrid unit under the hood. The truck will come with 17-inch wheels, HD axles and shorter gear ration, better traction thanks to low-range gearing, electronically locking differentials, and electronic disconnecting front stabilizer bar. Rock rails are there to protect the body from impacts. Besides the standard drive modes, the Gladiator 4xe Rubicon also adds Off-Road Plus configuration.
The most exclusive version is the 2023 Jeep Gladiator 4xe High Altitude. It brings the most advanced infotainment options and features. Well, the price is going to tell a lot about the vehicle. In this case, it raises up to $65,000, which is quite a lot for a mid-size pickup. The base configuration of the hybrid truck won’t cost under $55,000.
